A Weekend w/Uncle Kyle

The countdown to "The Return of Uncle Kyle" was very dramatic in our house.  We told the kids a few weeks back that Uncle Kyle (Brett's brother) was going to be coming home soon.  We always make this mistake.  Parents of young kids should let their kids know what they are doing day of only, do not attempt to tell them in advance.  Each day Brooklyn and Jameson would run out of their rooms shouting, "Is today the day Uncle Kyle comes here?"  When we would see an airplane, "Is that Uncle Kyle's airplane?!?"  You get the idea, they were very excited...and very impatient.

So the day finally arrived and Uncle Kyle was on that airplane and we were at the airport.  The AIRPORT.  Jameson about lost his mind.  He LOVES airplanes.  Anything with a motor really.  He was actually silent for several minutes, just taking it all in.  It was pretty adorable to see the excitement in his eyes.

When we got the call that Uncle Kyle was ready to be picked up we dashed out of the cell phone parking lot and headed his way.  We rolled the window down and the kids were screaming for Uncle Kyle as we pulled up, as I said, they were so excited.  They bombarded Kyle with questions all the way to Bremerton.  It was a very entertaining ride.

Once we got settled in at Brett's parents they graciously watched the kids while we went bowling for Mark's (Brett and Kyle's cousin) birthday.  Even though I am terrible at bowling, it was still a blast.  We spent the day on Sunday relaxing and even braved the chilly Fall day to see the salmon heading up stream.  It was pretty remarkable.  We have taken the kids to Issaquah to see the salmon run and that didn't even hold a candle to the amount of salmon in this creek...Chico Creek?!?  I actually don't know exactly where we were...but it was cool!

Heading to see some fishies!
Paternity test?!?
Fish.  See 'em? They are there. Lots of them.
Jameson's approval.
Trying to get a photo of the boys.
Oh geez, Jameson really does look just like his namesake!
The girls!
Hey, Mom, take a picture of me by this big tree!
Heading back to the car.
But wait, dandelions!

Sunday night we watched movies and chatted the night away.  Monday, the kids and I sadly had to head home to get Brooklyn back on her school schedule.  The kids were pretty crushed but I reassured them that Kyle would be back for Thanksgiving...my mistake...now they ask everyday if it's Thanksgiving yet.  It all comes full circle.
