The Boys

It's kinda freakin' me out how close in size the boys are these days.  At last measure they were 10lbs. apart.  Not a whole lot for two years apart in age.  When they are laying next to each other you can see that there bodies are pretty much the same size:

I'm not kidding!

Daddy wanted to sneak in the picture.

Silliness followed...

The Finger Rock

While out on a walk with the kids yesterday afternoon Brett spotted this in our path:
Yep.  That my friends is a rock, painted to look like a finger.  The kids got such a kick out of it.  When we got home we looked up the website on the back of the rock and found that it is part of project someone did in the community: www.rocknmonroe.blogspot.com.  Pretty cute and entertaining idea.  We'll be setting our rock free in Monroe so, if you live here, be on the lookout!

Memorial Day Weekend

Over the long weekend we packed the kids up and headed to my parent's cabin to meet up with my parent's (duh) and my sister Melissa's family.  Six adults, five kids (aged four and under) and three dogs.  An adventure for sure!

The "men" spent the day on Friday pulling a giant tree from the river and cutting it in to firewood.  Who knows why I didn't capture this on film.  It was pretty darn interesting.

The cousins all played together really well so there was actually a little relaxing to be had this time around.  Brett and I were even able to squeeze in a fishing trip to Fish Lake with just Brooklyn.  She loved having a little one-on-one time with her rents.  Loved it so much that she fell asleep in the boat.  When you are tired, you're tired...I guess.  I am pretty sure we are much more interesting than she realizes.  We caught five trout and headed back to the cabin for more nature walks, camp fires and wrestling matches.

Saturday night the adults played Tripoley.  A super fun game except it exposed a cheater amongst us....MOM.  Okay, okay, nobody cheated but the rule book was referenced many, many times.  I am confident in saying that a good weekend was had by all!  Hope you all enjoyed a safe and fun weekend as well.

Fishin'

Captivated faces.

A while back, Brett's cousin Mark brought his boat to our house so the boys could go do a little fishin'.  Lucky for us they put aside some time for us (the kids and me) to hop on board.  The kids were in heaven.  It wasn't the best day for fishing (Jameson caught one) but they were able to eat a lot of snacks and hold the worms.  Thanks Uncle Mark!

Why I am I just posting this...because Blogger somehow locked me out...the day after I post that I am obsessed with Angry Birds.  So, no, I did not go on an Angry Birds binger.

Uncle Mark shared his morning doughnuts.

We are ready to go!

Just a little bit chilly.

So excited!

Angry Birds

I am ready to admit it.  I am totally and completely addicted to Angry Birds.  It has caused my blogs to be few and my laundry to pile up.  I have made fun of my sister Melissa for farming her lame Farmville crops for years and now I am addicted to a similar, lame, computer game.  I know it is lame and yet, I can't stop playing it.  I actually suspended my gaming for a day yesterday because I needed to get caught up on blogging and laundry.  If you know me, you know that I can't stand video games....or couldn't stand them.  Have an iPad, iTouch or iPhone?  Download Angry Birds now and join my madness.

iPad

My lovely and wonderful husband got me an iPad for my birthday.  I know, super!  I am so excited, entertained and frustrated at the same time.  Technology has obviously jumped leaps and bounds since we purchased our laptop...seven years ago.  Sure it weighs 15lbs.  Sure it is slower than molasses.  But, I know how to use it!  I try to blog from the iPad and after an hour, I have watched three tutorial videos on Apple's website and typed two sentences.  I am not complaining, the product itself is amazing...it's my brain that is old and moldy.  So moldy that I am consider going to an iPad workshop to get the most out of it.  Lame, lame, lame.  When did I get to be so lame?  With that said, thank you Brett for the amazing birthday present that I will soon master.  :)

Hot Dogs for Breakfast!?!

For 20+ years we (my sisters and I) have been giving my Uncle Grant a hard time because one time (ONE time) he tried to put the previous evenings leftover hot dogs in our scrambled eggs the next morning.  We were totally grossed out.  It didn't help that after we refused to eat them, he mailed them to us.  Hilarious.

So, here I am, 20-some years later, ready to make a formal apology.  I am sorry Uncle Grant that we gave you such a hard time for this morning I contemplated putting leftover hot dogs in my kids eggs.  Jameson loves eggs and hot dogs so it seemed like such a perfect combo.  It instantly brought back many memories of the fun we had at their house.  And, no, I didn't serve it to them.  If I did I am sure Brooklyn would have been totally weirded out and I would have to hear about it for the rest of my life.  Her brain is like a steel-trap.

Hot dogs and eggs...weird or delicious?!?  I still can't decide...

Hair!

That's right folks, Emmett has hair!  It might be white blonde (as are his eyebrows and lashes) but it is there.  To capture it on film I put it an adorable mohawk. Clearly he is not a mohawk boy.  It doesn't help that he has on a skin tight (18 month size) frat boy jumper.  If it looks tight on his arms...you should see his legs.

See the dimple on the left side?  Adorable.  I am totally modest when it comes to my kids.  Yeah, right.

Sunday Funday!

While eating breakfast on Sunday we decided that we were going to make it a funday.  So, we packed up a days worth of kid survival supplies and headed out the door.  We started by driving in to Downtown Seattle for a waterfront Ivar's fish & chips lunch.  We stopped and checked out the fire station and fire boats next door, obviously.  :)

After we wrapped up lunch we headed to the zoo.  We LOVE the zoo.  We are so thankful that my Aunt Marci and Uncle Grant renewed our membership.  The zoo is fun for so many reasons.  It is a kid friendly activity that our whole family enjoys.  It requires a TON of walking which leads to a very quiet ride home.
And they serve Dippin' Dots.  Mmmm.  The rain held off while we were there and the crowd wasn't bad at all so we were able to have a really great time.  Funday turned out, well, fun!

I asked her to pose.  Awesome.

This is when I gave up on the elusive cute sibling photo.
Jameson had to check out every drain.  EVERY one.

Emmett loved the zoo!
Zzzzzzz

Bobby

Let me introduce you to Bobby.

Bobby is Jameson's naughty alter-ego.  Jameson gives us fair warning by declaring, "I be Bobby."  From there anything can happen and Jameson doesn't think he can get in trouble because it was Bobby.  I wish Bobby would go back to where he came from...but I have to admit, it is a little bit funny.

Mother's Day Tea

Last week Brooklyn's class hosted a Mother's Day Tea.  We got a little dressed up (as in I put on something other than my Momiform and Brooklyn scrubbed the dirt from her hands) and had a little Mommy-Daughter Date Night.  We started at the Tea where Brooklyn stole the show by directing her classmates with a little "me, me, me, me, me, meeee" voice warm-up with conductor hands and all.  She followed that up with singing the absolute loudest during the singing portion of the program and adding some sweet dance moves.  To top it off, she did multiple bows and said thank you, thank you, thank you when everyone was finished singing.  The other Moms found her extremely entertaining and made sure to tell me so after the kids were finished.  Such a ham.  We spent the rest of the evening doing art projects, eating snacks, drinking tea and playing outside.  On the way home we stopped by Dairy Queen for a yummy sundae.  It was super fun to spend one-on-one time with Brooklyn, she is so grown up.

Best picture EVER - check out Jameson...he didn't want us to leave.

Hard to catch her on film when she is dancing so crazy.

Playtime!
Sundae Time!

Lean Blogging

I have been a bad blogger lately.  This is partially due to the fact that a rare shiny orb called the sun has been making an appearance in our lives over the last couple of days.  We have been outside from dawn 'til dusk every day just drinking up the Vitamin D.  The kids have been in heaven.  I managed to snap a few photos of Emmett's first exposure to sunshine and rolling around in the grass.

This is cool stuff.
I like it!

Strike a pose!
Who needs pants?!?

Six Months

Emmett turned six months old on Monday.  Yep, time is flying that fast.  Our pediatrician greeted us with, "He looks like a developmentally delayed one year old."  I wasn't sure how to really take that.  So, of course, I decided it was a compliment and said thank you.  He is clear off the charts now and weighs in at 23lbs, 4oz. and is 29.5 inches long.  His head circumference is 18.25 inches.  There are no percentages because he is literally off the charts, no joke.

These days he loves to "tumbleweed" across the floor and make raspberry noises with his mouth.  Usually he does these things at the same time.  He loves to spy something interesting across the room and then he starts the engine, i.e. raspberry noises, and rolls all the way across the room to the interesting object.  Crawling has proved to be difficult due to the above mentioned large size.  :)  He is still the happiest big little guy and has the most infectious smile and laugh.

He is still for a moment...
...and back to rolling.

Rock on!

Man he's cute.  :)

Corey's Day at the Farm

On Monday we were lucky to catch Corey's Day on the Farm at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds in Silverdale.  After being introduced to the event through Brett's brother Todd's class, it became something that the whole family grew to love.  Each year they would volunteer and help out.  This year, Brett's Mom's class was attending and she had a few extra passes for our kiddos.  Baby Emmett was with Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Teece (thank you!) so we didn't have to lug him around.  :)  The kids enjoyed horse rides, a petting zoo, tractor rides, popcorn, snow cones, "cow" roping and a hot dog lunch.  They were SO excited!  It couldn't have been much better in their opinions.  It was a special day and we knew that Uncle Todd was smiling down on us.

Warning - LOTS of pictures ahead.  They were too cute for words in their little cowboy/cowgirl get-ups.

Learning to rope with Cowboy Anthony.

So excited!

Stop taking pictures MOM.

She loves horses.

As does he.
So beautiful.

Checking out the ladies.

Hi Mom!

Look a cow!

Feeding the goat.

A baby turkey!
She asked this nice woman where she got her snow cone and the lady gave it to her.  Lucky day!
